~ A Christmas Carol ....

Serve me up some "A Christmas Carol" with those cookies and hot chocolate
and I will be very content.
This is my "must see" movie during the holidays.
Heck, I could watch this movie in the middle of July.
But it must be the 1951 version.
Whenever I watch this movie, something magical happens within me.
It calms me.
It warms me.
It makes me happy.
I just love Ebenezer Scrooge.
Not the man he was
but
the man he became.

"Some people laughed to see the alteration in him,
but he let them laugh,
and little heeded them;
for he was wise enough
to know that nothing
ever happened on this globe,
for good,
at which some people did not have their fill
of laughter in the outset;
and knowing that such as these
would be blind anyway,
he thought it quite as well
that they should wrinkle up their eyes in grins,
as have the malady in less attractive forms.
His own heart laughed:
and that was quite enough for him."

God Bless Us, Every One!

Merry Christmas!

  1. What a lovely composition and still life! I have to admit, MY favorite "Chrismas Carol" is the Mr. Magoo one, haha. I always loved it and the ghosts didn't scare me quite as much as in the movie versions. But the message is the same. Merry Christmas to you and yours...may your day be Merry and Bright.
