~ I Won ...

... the giveaway at Timewashed
Back in September, Becky at Timewashed had a giveaway.
All we had to do was leave a comment on her post and a winner would be picked.
When I checked her blog a few weeks later ....
whoop, there it was!
My name.  Announced as the "winner".
I was ecstatic!
And you'll see why.

I won this gorgeous wire-basket filled with her handmade fabric pumpkins.
Are you sighing as deeply as I am?
I fell in love with these the second I saw them on her blog ....
never thinking that I would be lucky enough to win them!
(She does sell them in her Etsy shop).
The basket alone would have been the grand-prize in my eyes
but she filled it with not one, not two, not even three!
She filled it with four gorgeous fabric pumpkins.
Each pumpkin wearing its own little jewel on its stem!
Makes me ooohhh and aaahhh!
I want to keep them out ALL.YEAR.LONG!!!!!
And then....because she's awesome.... she added this little beauty
A jute pear!!!!  Holy fall foliage!!!!
I was absolutely giddy!
If you get a chance, please hop on over to her blog.
Be prepared to be stunned!
And now, it's time for Random 5 Friday.

1.  Daylight Saving Time.   Phooey!  Why must we keep doing this?
Fall back ... Spring forward.
Who the heck came up with that?

2.  It now gets dark by 5:00 p.m. .... soon it will be pitch dark by 4:30 p.m.!

3.  I'm also not fond of the time switch in the Spring.
I don't mind it staying lighter later ... but when it's still bright as day out
at 8:30 p.m. .... well, I'm not a fan.
I like it when August hits and the sun sets around 7:00-ish.

4.  This year I remembered to put all of our clocks back one hour.
I was so dang proud that I remembered all of them
and that I didn't complain once!
I was actually humming while completing this task.

5.  And shortly after I finished resetting the last clock .... the power went out.
It came right back on but it was out just long enough so that I had to go and reset all the clocks.
Just my luck.

This time I wasn't humming.
This time I pissed, whined and moaned.

  1. aren't you the luckiest thing!! I love what you won in the give-away. And, I love your blog look. Very cool!

  2. Oh, I forgot... since you are so lucky perhaps you need to check out my give-away at Living Life on Main Street. Who knows, you may get lucky again.

  3. Those are cute! Congrats. And I laughed about your clock/power outage fiasco. Sorry, but it was kinda funny. :)

  4. Congrats to well deserving too!...:)JP

  5. I am happy you won :-)
I am not fond of hour changes either..such a creature of habit I have become...

  6. Congrats on winning such a lovely giveaway, Diane, those pumpkins are wonderful !
Love your 'clock 5' :-) ... we have hour changes here too.
And I noticed your new layout, perfect for Autumn !

  8. Oh you lucky, lucky girl. How awesome that you won those gorgeous pumpkins and I love that twine wrapped pear. Congrats!! And I hear you about the time change, When it gets dark so early, I feel like I need to crawl in bed at 8:00 PM. Enjoy your weekend!!

  9. my fav is that awesome pear. Congrats on that win. ( :
don't get me started on the time change. yuck! nough said.

  10. I would keep those pumpkins out all year round and figure a way to festive them up for each season - a.dor.a.ble! Congratulations too! I hear ya on the time change - I think it was created during the war or something or created to help the farmers - but lets say we did but don't, and if the farmers want to get up earlier or stay out later - who the crap cares the time. Can I hear an Amen!
    Well, okay then. :)

  11. Hey Gal! I am so glad you love your pumpkins and pear! Thanks so much for the shout out!! It was a joy to create for you!! I love that basket, too! Too bad I couldn't find another one to keep!

I normally am not a fan of black blog backgrounds, but this looks so great!!

  12. Congratulations Becky at Timewashed is indeed a very talented woman and you a very lucky girl. I will check her blog out when I move from here.
Time change oh yes not a fan clock changing not a fan either:) Take care. Hug B

  13. What a wonderful win for you!! She is very talented and very generous.

  14. I am so with you on the clock is tough when it don't get dark till late and you have kids that need to go to bed in order to get up and go to school...I guess you and I should move nearer the equator...but then I don't want to miss the guess I will put up with it being dark by 5:00 in the winter.

  15. I would leave those pumpkins out all year as well. How cool that you won them. I hate the time change as well my friend. I don't know a single person who likes it. Makes me want to move to Arizona. I know they don't change the time in that state.

  16. These are really beautiful. So love the creative idea behind those pumpkins. I too would find a good reason to leave them on display year round.

  17. LMAO!!! you are such a hoot...and talk about being happy jealous...i'm with you on the just wire me that would have been the grand prize too...I think I need to learn to make those pumpkins...congrats on your win...i think it's amazing.
