~ Procrastination ...

1.  Procrastinate
to be slow or late about doing something that should be done
to delay doing something until a later time
2.  That's me.  Miss Procrastination.
I cannot figure it out.
It's not like I don't want to do the things I need/want/should do.
Like my craft projects.  I WANT to craft.
In fact, the other day I organized all the craft paraphernalia that I had thrown
into a large bin and I patiently sorted through it all and
put all my jewelry stash in one smaller bin ...
all my charm bottles in another bin ...
all my charms in another bin ...
well, you get the picture.
So you'd think that I would just pick a project and jump right in, right?
Miss Procrastination.
3.  I love browsing here Antique Farmhouse Décor.
See that file box ... lovely, huh?
I did my hem and haw ... haw and hem.
I put it in my cart.
I took it out of my cart.
I did more of the hem and haw.
Haw and hem.
I put it back in my cart and smugly thought "I'll get back to it later."
Miss Procrastination.
4.  Later came .... went to check out.
It was SOLD OUT!
What???  What???  What???
Geez Louise!!!!
How could that have happened in just a few hours?
Miss Procrastination.
5.  I found some quotes on procrastinating and I'd like to share some with you.
The best way to get something done is to begin
Only Robinson Crusoe had everything done by Friday.
Procrastination is the thief of time.
and one that made me laugh out loud ...
Procrastination is like masturbation ...
in the end you're just screwing yourself.
It snowed on Monday and again on Wednesday.
Dang!  I am getting weary of snow blowing and shoveling.
They are predicting more snow for Sunday and Thursday.
(Shaking My Head)
But I do enjoy taking some shots of snow.
Here are a few that I took this week.
So there ya have it.
Winter in my backyard.
Now, I've got to go to the market and hit the craft store.
Or maybe hit the craft store and go to the market tomorrow.
Or maybe go to the market and hit the craft store tonight.
Or maybe ...
Miss Procrastination!

  1. I go to the craft store, get all inspired, buy what I need, get home....and take a nap. I may never create what I was inspired to do.

  2. I'm pretty sure you wrote that about me. Have you been spying on me? ;0)

  3. Yup I am a procrastinator too. I try really hard not to be!

  4. My husband is the same way in a sort....he always comes up with excuses when I suggest doing something. I call it lazy...but I know it's just procrastinating 'cause he gets it done....eventually.

At least you DID go out and take photos of the snow...that's something, right? LOL

  5. it's good to procrastinate sometimes, you can think more about what you want and need to do. & beside winter is an excuse to proscrainate.

hope you have a great day.

  6. I have been sewing a little bit this week...trying to get back to it. I feel better when I am working on something so why I don't work on it all the time is more than I know.

  7. LOL! Love the procrastination comparison to masturbation!!!! I am not a procrastinator...hubs is! ...:)JP

  8. ok, i have to ask - where is Gumby? is he not into snow? ( :
i have got worse at procrastination in my later years. i never had a problem when i was young ... no i let things slack ... i will get around to it some day. maybe??! if i have too. ha. ha!!

  9. Lmao!! Great post sis!!! Live that 2nd quote!! Holy moly that made me snort!!! Beautiful snow edits. Now go get crafting!!!!

  10. Oh, yeah, I get the whole procrastination thing - waiting to the last minute. If you find a cure, please clue me in. Your snowy back yard is pretty - I love your last photo!

  11. Ahhh, I fear we all suffer from the same affliction... I bought the Do It Later diary, and haven't even got round to opening it yet!!
Lovely to meet you through Random 5 :)

  12. Adore your post. Especially your quotes - laughed out loud. Photos are amazing - favorite is the fence. :)

  13. I don't view it as procrastination... we live in a hurry up world -- it's okay to ponder things before committing to them. :)

  14. Oh, I hear ya! Loud & clear! I procrastinate all the time. Just ask my mother. LOL

Check out my embroidery/ redwork blog if you are interested. (GYB)

  15. Starting always the hardest part. I think for me it is partially a perfectionism problems. I don't want to start it and not like it.

  16. I'm not horrible with procrastinating, but indecisiveness yes. I can talk myself out of getting something quicker than you can say "Bob's your uncle". I will say one thing for this winter - it has given us ample opportunities to take snow pictures. Enjoy your day.

  17. Some things I procrastinate about, some things I don't and I do those things in order to procrastinate doing the first things. lol.

  18. I want to start by saying I love the look of your blog my friend.. You post had me smiling. And I LOVE your snow shots. I only procrastinate on things I really don't want to do.

  19. Your winter photos are so gorgeous and dreamy! I enjoyed your post about procrastination. I'm not one to do that, but when it happens it is because I just couldn't find the time.

  20. I like your winter photos. At least you didn't procrastinate about getting out to take them. :)

  21. When I saw your blog title at the GYB party I thought it meant shots as in gin, whisky etc. Oops. Fortunately you turned out to be the fun, feisty and honest type of blogger I enjoy. Finding your voice takes a while, I think, but after a while you start to see a trend in your posts and it sorts itself out. It was really comforting to discover we keep the same hours. I will be back for more.
